Volunteer

Make a Difference at Mingus by Volunteering!

From the beginning, volunteers have been a cornerstone of Mingus Mountain Camp — from constructing the buildings to preparing homecooked meals, volunteers have done it all! Volunteers continue to help make Mingus a special place and there are many ways for you to share your gifts with camp. Needs often include:

  • Painting building interiors

  • Reflooring indoor spaces

  • Assisting with deep cleaning

  • Landscaping

  • Maintenance/repairs

  • Sewing curtains

  • Help with upcoming fundraisers and events

For more information about our volunteer opportunities, please contact Jonathan Gowan, Assistant Director.

Volunteer with Children and Youth

Mingus Mountain is always in need of volunteers for our Summer Camp programs. These positions include health care professionals to serve as the camp nurse, counselors, cabin assistants, and program volunteers. Volunteers who work in these programs are background screened once a year and are required to take an in-depth Safe Sanctuaries training through Safe Gatherings. This training also includes a new module on COVID 19 related safety issues.
