Paid Staff

Camp Counselor/Intern – Do you love children and youth? Is playing games and being a little ridiculous your idea of a good time? Join the Mingus Mountain team as a camp counselor/intern and grow your leadership skills as you lead small groups of children and youth in camp activities, devotions, and small group discussions. Your experience will include: lots of teamwork completing light maintenance duties, some housekeeping, a little bit of kitchen work, and help with camp activity areas. (Ages 18 and older are eligible for these positions, with preference to those in their 20’s.)  Camp counselors/interns will serve from May 24 – August 5, 2021.

Volunteer Staff

IIMingus Mountain has a long-standing tradition of dedicated volunteers serving as Summer Camp staff.  Consider being a part of this tradition by serving as Summer Camp staff this year!  We are looking for volunteers to serve in the following positions:

Camp Nurse – Nurse, doctor, or other certified medical practitioner. The Camp Nurse collects and dispenses medication at the appropriate times and provides medical care to campers and staff as needed.

Counselor – Camp Counselors serve as the adult role model to campers during the week, ensuring that campers arrive at activities on time, leading some activities and events, sharing meals with the campers. Counselors spend the night in the cabins with their campers.

Kitchen Staff – Some camps may make use of volunteers in the kitchen. These volunteers help prepare meals, wash dishes, and set up the dining hall for meals.

Program Staff – Program staff bring additional skills to camp such as music or crafts leadership.

Spiritual Director – Our equivalent of a Theologian-in-Residence. Responsibilities include planning and leading daily worship based on this year’s curriculum, planning and leading daily campfires, and planning and leading small group sessions. The position is also responsible for recruiting a small number of volunteers.
