Summer Camp 2023: Staff Applications are OPEN!

Mingus Mountain has a long standing tradition of dedicated Volunteers serving as Summer Camp staff and we have a paid position for young adults to grow their leadership skills. We are looking for staff to serve in the following positions:

Volunteer

Adult CounselorVolunteer Adult Counselors serve as the adult role model to campers during the week, ensuring campers arrive to activities on time, leading some activities and events, sharing meals with campers, and spends the night in the cabins with campers.

Junior Counselor**For those 15 years and 8 months to 17 years old, Volunteer Junior Counselors serve alongside Volunteer Adult Counselors, providing guidance, role-modeling and an extra set of hands. Junior Counselors are given extra support and resources as they develop their leadership skills!

** this role may only serve in Elementary-aged camps.

Spiritual DirectorOur equivalent of a Theologian-in-Residence. Responsibilities include planning and leading daily worship based on this year’s curriculum, planning and leading daily campfires, and planning and leading small group sessions. The position is also responsible for recruiting a small number of volunteers.

Camp NurseNurse, doctor, or other certified medical practitioner. The Volunteer Camp Nurse collects and dispenses medication at the appropriate times and provides medical care to campers and staff as needed.

Counselor Intern – Grow your leadership skills as you lead small groups of children and youth in camp activities, devotions, and small group discussions. You’ll get to experience a little slice of all areas of camp, including lots of teamwork completing light maintenance duties, some housekeeping, and a little bit of kitchen work. Ages 18 and older, with one year out of high school or equivalent experience, are eligible for this role.
