  • A non-refundable, $50 deposit is required at the time of registration to complete and submit a registration for summer camp. Camp balances are due 2 weeks before said camper session/s.
  • Registration for each session of camp closes 7 days prior to the start date of each camp session at 5pm. Director discretion may apply to extend registration on a case-by-case basis.

Know someone who hasn’t been to a Mingus camp since before 2021 or has never been at all? Use our Refer-a-Friend Form to recommend up to 5 new campers, making them eligible for $25 off registration fees, and you eligible for up to $125 off! Session Options at a Glance

Most weeks, we offer concurrent sessions so, hopefully, there’s a little something for everyone! Check out the session options here and read descriptions in the area below. For details about sessions, you may contact Jonathan Gowan, Asst. Director, at jonathan@dscumc.org or call the camp phone: 928-649-5949.

Sessions you see struck-though have filled or online registration has closed; if it is still before that camp session, contact Emma Gowan, Office Admin, to seek if there is room for your camper/s at egowan@dscumc.org or 928-719-6162 (call/text).

Please note: If approved by the director, campers can only be added to closed sessions until 4:30pm the Friday before said session.

Grand & Me Camp

Session 3: July 1-3

$247 per person

This 3-day, 2-night camp will give grandparents and their grandchildren an opportunity to bond with each other and other “grand-families.” Campers, big and small, will participate in traditional camp activities such as gaga ball, crafts, hikes, campfire worships, and more! This introductory overnight camping experience is a chance for grandparents and grandchildren to learn all about summer camp at Mingus and discover what they like best!

Please note: this camp will operate as one larger cohort led by Mingus Camp Staff, where grandparents are responsible for however many grandkids they bring with them; plan accordingly!

3-day, 2-night camp (Mon-Wed) for grandparents (18+) and campers entering grades 1 – 8 in Fall 2024.

Elementary Camps

Elementary I Camp, Session 1: June 17-22
Elementary II Camp, Session 2: June 24-29

Elementary Camp is filled with new challenges, faith-building experience, and tons of fun for your growing camper. With opportunities to participate in archery, games, fishing, crafts, hiking and more – Elementary camp is one adventure after another. Campers are sure to fill your vehicle with camp songs, great stories, and many laughs on the way home; get ready for a fun ride!

6-day, 5-night camps (Mon-Sat) for campers entering grades 3 – 6 in Fall 2024.

Junior High Camps

Jr High I Camp, Session 1: June 17-22
Jr High II Camp, Session 2: June 24-29

This high-energy week is filled with new and old friends, exciting activities, new adventures, and engaging worship. Junior High campers participate in traditional Mingus Mountain camp activities with the added daily freedom to choose new activities – like night ziplining! This week of camp will provide an experience campers will remember for years to come.

6-day, 5-night camps (Mon-Sat) open to campers entering grades 6 – 9 in Fall 2024.

NEW! Junior High Adventure: Local AZ

Session 1: June 17-22

Jr. High Adventure Camp will challenge jr.  high campers physically and spiritually! Join us for an adventurous week of activities, including (indoor) rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, swimming and even a visit to Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, AZ!  This is a week filled with engaging faith questions, relationship building, teamwork, and memorable experiences, all while enjoying outdoor adventures. Campers will develop a deeper appreciation and enjoyment of God’s amazing creation!

6-day, 5-night camp (Mon-Sat) open to campers entering 6th grade-9th grade  in Fall 2024.

Junior/Senior High Night Owls

Session 4: July 8-13

Experience all the joys of camp at this “upside-down” session, but while staying up late (until 2:30 – 3:00am) and sleeping until 11:30 am. Become a true night owl with nighttime hikes, night zipping, glow-in-the-dark painting, night disc golf, and so much more to explore! We’ll share in this fun while growing our faith, growing friendships, and growing our night vision! Who knows? You may not need a flashlight after spending a week in community under the cover of darkness!

6-day, 5-night camp (Sun-Fri) open to campers entering 6th grade in Fall 2024 through graduated seniors.

Senior High Adventure: Beach Camp

Session 2: June 24-29

$595

Sr. High  Beach Campers will start the week at Mingus Mountain and then travel to our fellow Methodist camp Lazy W Ranch, located in San Juan Capistrano, CA.  Campers will learn how to surf, go on a boat tour for whale/dolphin watching, and spend time burying each other in the sand! Additionally, they will enjoy the amenities at Lazy W, including hiking, swimming, and challenging themselves on the high ropes course. These campers will form a deep bond with each other through these amazing experiences.  So come and join us for an amazing Sr. High  Beach Camp in 2024!

6-day, 5-night camp (Mon-Sat) open to campers entering 9th grade in Fall 2024 through graduated seniors.
